BlackBerry Window and Door Systems has been focused on our passion for window replacement and restoration since 1980. Dedicated to the commercial market, our experience includes University and Education, Corporate and Healthcare, Government and Municipal, as well as the Mixed-Use and Housing sectors.
Our experience is in both new construction and retrofit projects supplying and installing windows, doors, storefront, and exterior glazing. Over the past 42 years, our expertise has grown on both a regional and national scale for historic window projects. BlackBerry has completed over 75 Federal Historic Tax Credit projects, restoring and replicating wood, steel, and aluminum windows.
Our comprehensive services include historic window site reviews and surveys, project design and consultation, as well as project contracting and management. Our staff and field technicians’ skills include restoration of ornamental steel, skylights, spandrel panels, and specialty glass and glazing.

Michael started BlackBerry Systems in 1980 with an emphasis on providing energy-efficient building products to homeowners and commercial building owners. BlackBerry has evolved and grown over the years into something even Michael couldn’t imagine at the time of conception. BlackBerry has both highly successful residential and commercial divisions, but he spends most of his time managing the rapidly expanding commercial sector, including historic window restoration and replication. No matter the direction of Blackberry, the goal of quality workmanship and product excellence has always been the driving force behind its success and has positioned the company as one of Michigan’s and the Great Lakes States area leading fenestration contractors and suppliers. Our primary focus still remains energy savings for our customers.

Jeff has been with BlackBerry for over 30 years. He started as a field Installer, advancing his way into project management. Jeff has been a valuable asset to the Commercial Team since joining in 1987. He supervises each project from beginning to end, ensuring projects are completed within time and budgetary targets. He seamlessly plans and coordinates all aspects of the project, including assigning field personnel, project review with Field Foreman, and serving as a liaison with architects and vendors. He is also responsible for securing permits and licenses, the timely delivery of materials and equipment to construction sites, and project close out. His expertise in historic and replacement window systems provides our customers with confidence and the assurance of a quality completed project.

Lindsay worked for years in the banking industry before joining the BlackBerry team in 2012. She is the Finance Manager for both the residential and commercial divisions. Lindsay manages all project accounting including invoicing, accounts payable, receivables, and job costing. She develops all monthly and year-end financial reports. Her position is pivotal in helping the Project Manager and Foreman track project budgets and cost assignment. Lindsay manages the preparation of BlackBerry’s budget, interprets the company’s financial results to management, and compiles key business metrics to track progress.

Mike has been with BlackBerry since 2006 as a skilled installer and Project Foreman. He is highly trained and experienced in wood and steel window restoration and preservation. Mike has overseen many of our most difficult restoration projects both in the field and shop environments. His experience includes managing high density downtown high rise and urban window replacement projects. Our clients give Mike high marks for his site supervision and communication.
